Tamarisk Enriched Assisted Living was designed and permitted as an expansion of Shalom Village in Warwick, RI. The shingle-style building houses 66 assisted living and dementia units, common living and dining areas, and is the backdrop for distinct garden spaces for use by residents and their visitors.

The residence includes a specialized wing for treatment of dementia patients. This area is served by an enclosed garden featuring distinct "backyards" at each door as well as wayfinding identifiers along the paths. Each space within the garden is treated with a unique palette of materials, providing users with visual cues to their location.

In the main garden area, the beautifully carved cedar shade structure is sized to serve as a Sukkah for holiday celebrations.
