Peach’s Point

We provided landscape design services and acted as owner’s representative for this recently completed project. A driveway winds through a wooded slope, where three stone columns guide the way to the parking area and front courtyard. Nestled between the original rear porch and a new deck, a sunken patio and firepit provide beautiful views to the ocean beyond.

Maple Street

A carefully considered palette of fieldstone walls, antique brick paths, split rail fencing and reclaimed granite help to blend this newly constructed home into an established rural neighborhood. A cozy firepit, adjacent to a generous farmer’s porch, provides stunning views to the pasture beyond.

Labor in vain

A full redesign of this unique property included a new driveway, integrating the deck with a new outdoor terrace, transitional planting areas, and a defined entrance- including fieldstone walls and reclaimed granite.

Nestled into a challenging slope- linear bluestone planks, a custom cut granite firepit, and abundant woodland plantings surround this elliptical pool and spa.

After helping to guide this new pool and landscape project through permitting, ULC has been helping the owners throughout the implementation. With finishing touches coming this spring, it should be a great summer for this family!

NEW POOL, PATIO, FENCING, AND LIGHTING

Bartlett Street

Working for a return client, this project joined the 2012 upper bluestone terrace to a new pool and associated decking. Bluestone, brick, ipe wood, new plantings, period fencing, and lighting were all seamlessly integrated with the existing house and patio.  A series of well defined and unique terraced spaces lead one from the house, through entertaining spaces, to the pool.  ULC provided design and construction management services for this recently completed project.

Staycation!

This project involved multiple elements- a new 3 car garage, swimming pool, fire pit, walkways, fencing and cabana. Bluestone coping and decking were integrated with historic Styles + Hart brick banding, while extensive plantings provide visual interest and eventual shade canopy. An adjacent lawn space included within the fenced yard provides safe free play opportunities .

Dolliver’s Terrace

Situated adjacent to Freshwater Cove, ULC redesigned this small backyard to both maximize the functional outdoor space, and create a planted buffer to the neighboring shared driveway. Playful, organic curves define the patio, and plants tolerant of the seaside climate provide visual interest and screening.

Pride's Crossing

Sometimes small projects make a big difference!  By opening up existing walls and adding a wide set of steps, a new fire pit space was created with a strong connection to the existing terrace.  Through careful material selections and rehabbing of existing stucco walls, this new space looks like it has always been there.

River House

Working with Olson Lewis + Architects, Derosa Environmental and others, ULC provided full landscape design and construction management services for this newly built home in Manchester-by-the-sea. A new entry drive, parking court, pool, tennis court, fencing, entry gate, lighting and plantings provide the finishing touches to this beautiful home and site.

ENTRY DESIGN AND PARKING COURT

Manchester By the Trees

ULC provided permitting, landscape design and construction administration services to see this project from inception to completion. The original U shaped driveway and pavement area extended up to the front door, and made for an awkward parking and entry to this remodeled home. ULC designed a new parking court/backout, a generous walkway to the front door, extensive boulder placements and naturalized plantings in keeping with the woodland context of the site. Two hand split granite posts, lit from below, accent the entry from the street.

SITE PLANNING, ENTRY COURT AND GARDEN DESIGN

Georgetown Tudor

ULC provided design and construction management services for this residential project in Georgetown, MA. The landscape design included the placement of a 2 car garage, extensive driveway and parking court redesign, and the integration of a seat wall and patio with the new kitchen addition. Unique grading issues resulted in the design and installation of a bio retention area to capture runoff from the roof and patio surfaces.
